Finding Freedom of Performance through Movement: Exploring Self-expression with Deborah Darr
Hospitality Room  4300 North Marine Drive
Event is capped at 20 participants

As a cabaret performer, if you are seeking to feel more grounded, available, open, and free to express yourself through your voice and body, Feldenkrais may be just the ticket!  Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement is verbally guided movement lessons that will bring you the kind of intimate connection to yourself that all artists are looking for. It will bring you a self-awareness practice that will transform the way you think about warming up and preparing for performance. It will bring you more comfort, ease, and mastery in both your daily and artistic life.  Deborah is a 27-year veteran of theater on and off Broadway, a Licensed Feldenkrais Practitioner, and a Certified NIA Dance Instructor. She discovered Feldy and NIA out of her own need to heal from a car accident that dramatically curtailed her performing career. She went on to use these techniques to bolster and sustain her life as a performer, teacher, and Physical Therapist.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement and bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on the floor as well as a towel that can be rolled up for a pillow for your head. If you are not able to lie comfortably on the floor, you may sit in a chair to be provided at the venue.
