SIGN UPWe are pleased that Howard Pfeifer will be returning to the piano for this CCP Open Mic. We have created an atmosphere where CCP members of all experience levels can stop by and have a chance to see each other, maybe sing a song, have a drink. We are encouraging both those emerging cabaret artist members or the more experienced singers to join us, visit and share together. The only requirement to sing is to be a member. While we do encourage singers to mention prior to performing where you might be seen next, we ask that you refrain from distribution of any printed promotional materials.  Doors open at 6:30 pm and sign up then. Bringing sheet music in your key is encouraged. Our goal is to create a welcoming space for all our members to perform. Members are encouraged to invite nonmember friends to come and enjoy the talent.  FREE

The 5th Annual CCP Emerging Artist Showcase featuring the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship

Chicago Cabaret Professionals is proud to present the 5th Annual Emerging Artist Showcase featuring the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship, on Thursday August 13 at 7:30PM at the Gateway Lounge.  This event has grown into a spotlight that celebrates the next wave of amazing artists in the Chicago area.  With no end cap on age, this event has featured some of Chicago’s most exciting and diverse new performers and helped them gain footing in this wonderful art form.  This year’s Emerging Artist Showcase Finalists are: Bryn Daney, Joel D’Aroya, Gabriella Longo, Rachel Maloney & Dee Pace.  The finalists are individually paired with an established CCP member to help them cultivate their 3-song mini set for the showcase and invited to participate in a variety of preparatory workshops to fine tune their set.  They will also work with esteemed Chicago Music Director Chuck Larkin on their songs and he will accompany them for the August 13th Showcase performance.  2025 Scholarship recipient, Aurura Boe, will also return to perform songs from her recent debut Cabaret: My Little Voice.

INFOFrench-Cameroonian vocalist and songwriter Suzie Telep’s music blends jazz improvisation, French chanson, gospel, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms into a multicultural journey. Singing in English, French, Basaa, Creole, and more, she brings audiences stories of identity, belonging, and connection through a soulful and powerful voice.  Inspired by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dianne Reeves, Angélique Kidjo, and Miriam Makeba, Suzie has performed across the Paris jazz scene and is now bringing her cross-cultural artistry to Chicago audiences. Her repertoire moves between jazz standards, contemporary songs, and original compositions from her upcoming debut EP, “Afropean Travel”.  Featuring Adam Kastler on piano and Nat Lin on bass.
