Call for Submissions: 5th Annual CCP Emerging Artist Showcase, featuring the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship
Chicago Cabaret Professionals is proud to announce a call for submissions for the 5th Annual Emerging Artist Showcase, featuring the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship.  Beginning, Friday May 15, anyone 21 years of age or older can submit to be considered for this wonderful Cabaret Showcase and Scholarship opportunity. This showcase feature 5 finalists, selected by a panel of Cabaret, Music or Education professionals, who will be invited to create a 3-song mini set for their chance to become the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship recipient.  That person will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to be used to produce their first, solo Cabaret show at the venue of their choosing in the Chicago area.  Finalists will rehearse and perform their set, with a CCP Music Director, at least once for a reduced MD rate.  The scholarship showcase performance will be held at The Gateway Theater on Thursday, August 13 at 7:30PM.  Finalists will also be partnered with a mentor – an active, performing CCP member – who will help guide each finalist through the process of creating their Cabaret set.
All who submit must be an active member of CCP no later than June 1st, or they will not be considered for the final Showcase Performance.  If you are unsure of your membership status, you may check by logging in to the member area of the main CCP website.  If you cannot figure it out or have any other questions, please email Producer Ellen Winters Reynolds: ellenwintersmusic@gmail.com

Under the deft guidance of Kevin Wood, the renowned musical stylist and storyteller, take a heartfelt and humorous cabaret journey through the moments that shape us — the loves we lost, the chances we took, the songs that carried us through, and the memories we wish we could uncork and live again.  Blending storytelling with beloved classics and unexpected musical gems, the show explores how we hold on to the past while learning to savor the present. Tender, witty, and deeply human, guided by Kevin Wood, Time in a Bottle invites audiences to laugh, reflect, and perhaps see their own story shimmering inside the glass.
