Wheel of Fortune- LIVE ( Milwaukee) reviewed by Amy Menzel

Wheel of Fortune LIVE! – 11/21/25

Now for a little something different…

Wheel of Fortune LIVE! isn’t your typical evening at the theater, but it is a heck of a lot of fun. The tour recently made a stop at the Marcus Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee and, as a fan of “America’s Game,” I was excited to be in attendance.

Contestants are selected from the audience, based on pre-show registration. You don’t need to register, of course, and there’s an option to register for the chance to win prizes without appearing on stage. As I like to say – you do you. I registered and convinced my mom to, too. She was more nervous than I was to be chosen to play. Considering all the trash talking I do while watching from the comfort of my couch, I was a little nervous. Ultimately, neither of our names were called last night. We both agreed, though, that we’d be eager to play if we attended again.

Here’s how the live show works…

There are three initial rounds, during which five players compete to see who can solve three toss-up puzzles first. The winner of each initial round becomes a contestant on a live version of a typical Wheel game, complete with a bonus round. There are fun features for the live stage version, including a special “audience” wheel wedge. When a contestant lands on the audience wedge, guessing a correct answer earns a cash prize for one lucky audience member. Oh, and there’s a fun little game of luck to see which audience member gets to play the role of Vanna White for the evening. These little additions keep the show fresh and the audience engaged.

There’s no “applause” sign to cue clapping and cheering from the audience, and such a sign isn’t necessary. Most of the audience seems familiar with the show, and everyone seems happy to root for the contestants. The trickiest part for real Wheel fans is to keep quiet during the game. While it’s fine (and likely natural) to shout out answers when you watch at home, vocalizing your brilliance during the live show…well, ruins the live show. This proved to be a challenge for a few Friday night, but folks quickly got the hang of it, and I think we all had fun.

It’s easy for me to say that you should go see this show when it comes to town, but I’m going to let you decide for yourself. Complete the “quiz” below to find out if you should get tickets for Wheel of Fortune LIVE!
