It’s ICE CREAM time again- Around The Town Versus Out Chicago

May 22nd will start what is known as Memorial Day weekend and for many it is the symbol of SUMMER in Chicago. Summer is “ice Cream” season and once again, the hosts of Out Chicago and Around The Town Chicago with Al Bresloff  have made the visit to Windy City Sweets at 3308 N. Broadway to make their selections. There are over 20 flavors of ice cream and each of the hosts tasted ones that they thought might be their selection.

Based on the results of the competition they had during the winter with the baked goods at Misericordia’s Hearts & Flour Bakery & Cafe, Frank had first choice, followed by Scott, than Al and bakery winner, Ellen was the last to select her ice cream.

Frank selected  Windy City Fudge: vanilla ice cream, butter fudge swirl with large chewy fudge pieces ( home made by Windy City)

Scott’s choice: Nana’s Banana Puddin- banana pudding ice cream swirled with marshmallow cream and vanilla cookies

Al’s choice Jill’s Bake Shoppe: Creamy cookie dough ice cream with chocolate chips cookie dough and freash baked brownie bites, swirling with soft, chocolate fudge topping!

Ellen’s selection: Rush Hour- coffee ice cream with creamy caramel swirl and chocolate-coffee candy chips.

Here is what is great about this contest. While each contestant is hoping to be the leader of the pack, the true winners will be Special Gifts Theatre company as for every scoop sold from day one until September 13th ( Grandparents Day), 25 cents will be donated to the SGT to be used to help a performer or an aid be a part of the program.
