FUNNY IS FEMALE COMEDY FESTIVAL RETURNS TO OAK PARK OCTOBER 22–25
OAK PARK, IL — September 24, 2026 — The Funny Is Female Comedy Festival returns to Oak Park October 22–25, bringing together more than 50 women and female-identifying comedians for four days of stand-up, performances, panels, networking, and community.
Produced by Comedy Plex, the Funny Is Female Comedy Festival was created to elevate women’s voices in comedy while providing an inclusive, supportive environment where performers can connect, collaborate, and showcase their work.
The 2026 festival will feature comedians from Chicago and across the country, with performances taking place across two stages at Comedy Plex, 1128 Lake St., Lower Level, Oak Park.
In addition to stand-up performances, the festival will feature opportunities for comedians and audiences to connect through industry panels, workshops, and networking events. The festival is designed not only as a showcase for talented performers, but also as a space where women in comedy can build relationships and community that extend beyond the weekend.
“Funny Is Female is about much more than putting women on stage,” said Angie McMahon, Artistic Director of the Funny Is Female Comedy Festival. “We want to create a place where women can meet each other, support each other, learn from one another, and build connections that continue long after the festival is over. We’re incredibly excited about this year’s lineup and the community that is coming together around it.”
The festival builds on the success of its inaugural year in 2025, which featured 55 comedians and established Funny Is Female as a growing platform for women in comedy.
The 2026 festival will run October 22–25, 2026, at Comedy Plex Comedy Club in Downtown Oak Park.
