Porchlight “Icons Celebration” September 14th

Today, on Around The Town,  Porchlight Music Theatre announcesdmulti-award winner Leslie Uggams will be celebrated at its annual ICONS Gala, Sept. 14 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. Brenda and James Grusecki will also be feted with the 2025 Luminary Award.

With Ms.Uggams in attendance, the fundraising brunch will include:

• Presentation of the 2025 ICON Award to Leslie Uggams
• Presentation of the 2025 Luminary Award for Exemplary Leadership and Support of Music Theatre to our season sponsors, Brenda and James Grusecki
• An exclusive interview between Ms. Uggams and WGN’s Paul Lisnek
• LIVE performances showcasing highlights from Ms. Uggams’ career, including Hallelujah Baby!, Blues in the Night, Jerry’s Girls, Anything Goes
• Co-hosted by Artistic Director Michael Weber and Kenny Ingram (Broadway’s The Lion King) with a special guest performance by Tony Award-nominee Felicia P. Fields (Broadway’s The Color Purple, Porchlight’s Blues in the Night)
• Deluxe brunch buffet with mimosas and wine sponsored by Uvae Kitchen and Wine Bar and more!
