Highly Recommended **** “It takes a village”! This is an expression that we have all heard used, but in many cases, never understood its true meaning. I think I may have found an answer that will make sense.
In these troubled time, the era of Covid-19, our lives have been altered as never before. Kids are going to school…at home! People are working…at home. No one agrees on what they want at mealtime! Who wants to spend all day researching recipes? Or even worse, running to the grocery store for a missing item that is needed ( and will probably never be needed again)?
Meal Village ( see, it takes a village) is a great answer. Unlike many of the other meal services out there, they have NO CONTRACT! NO SUBSCRIPTION! and of great importance, NO FUSS!
Jane was searching for a service that could provide fresh tasty meals, with a great choice at very affordable charges and she found Meal Village. Let me tell you about the four dinners that we partook of over the last two days.
Thursday night, Beef Paprikash with egg noodles and roasted carrots. This one is either microwaveable or heat in the oven. Every package has ingredients and instructions on the cover. The portions are ample ( you will not believe the pricing) and everything contained in the package, fresh and healthy. The beef was very flavorful and the carrots quite tasty.
The second entree that we shared. Cowboy Chicken ( I have no idea why the name) with baked sweet potatoes and corn was a delight. The chicken was juicy and the sweet potato just the way I like them ( not hard or soft..just right).
Friday nights dinner(s):
BBQ Grilled pork chop with a side of Mac N Cheese ( and a cole slaw) was better than it looked. Let’s face it, getting a meal in a plastic box may not have the appeal that the dinner has when plated, but I can tell you from our experience, every meal we partook in tasted great! The second plate, chicken enchiladas with Spanish rice and pinto beans was delightful. If you were to try to duplicate this at home, I am sure you would spend a fortune on the ingredients and a great deal of time in the kitchen. Why bother! With Meal Village you can get fresh meals, made daily and hand delivered to your home!
The prices start at $6.95 ( about the cost of a drive-thru fast food meal) for chef-prepared meals that will satisfy everyone in your household. By the way, they have a selection of kids meals and some deserts as well.
The phone number is 1-888-610-2232, website www.mealvillage.com
You can download their app on your smartphone as well.
Process is easy. Go to the site, select the items, place the order which will be delivered fresh, same day (or on schedule) as what they show is what they offer and because they are preparing that day, they can run out.
FYI
We are going to make this a regular , weekly meal or two and will continue to try the tasty meals that they prepare. Listen to my show on WCPT820 every Sunday 2-3 p.m. for updates on what new items we enjoyed.
