Last night, Frank and I did his monthly TV Show. Chicago Theatre Review ( for Comcast). Because of the Covid situation, the studios are not being used, so of late, we have found remote locations to tape from. One of the restaurants that we talk about on Sundays ( Radio station WCPT820 a.m.) is Le Sud, a charming French/Mediterranean space in Roscoe Village. Owner, Sandra Chen, in order to make her patrons comfortable, as the warm weather turns to cold ( this is Chicago), has installed some IGLOO-like structures on her patio. These are heated ( a sort of fireplace) and very comfy for the patrons, allowing them to dine in comfort and style, no matter the elements.
Their menu is a delight, but since we were not there for dinner, all I did was a take-home for Jane and I to enjoy. I had heard that the burger might just be the best in Chicago. As many of you know, I am a burger lover and have enjoyed so many in so many dining spots. I also always make sure that when I order meat from Purely Meat, I have their steakburgers on-hand. I must tell you, Le Sud has a burger that is worth the trip for. Even if you are just seeking a curbside pick-up, this is one that you will enjoy from first bite to last. Juicy with just the right touch of sauces and. It is wood-grilled, tri-blend with gruyere, carmalized onions, frisee, aioli on a sesame bun with just right frites. ( magnificent and only $15)
FYI- Le Sud has recently added some flavors from Spain. As I said, a true dining experience and we are planning t taste the new menu very soon. They are now open 7 days a week- but they only have outdoor dining ( they also have delivery and curbside) in their domes. Reservations are required and each dome is limited to parties of 6 and under. They will follow all CDC rules as well as those of the city of Chicago. The restaurant is located at 2301 West Roscoe with plenty of free parking, To make reservations call 773-857-1985 or visit www.LeSudChicago.com
You will be able to find the show and see the restaurant by visiting U-Tube and Chicago Theatre Review.
