***** A while back, we found a wonderful Italian dining spot in Long Grove, well off the beaten path, serving what is termed “Italian Street Food”. We loved everything on their menu, and when we heard they were expanding with a second location in Glenview, both Jane and I were very excited. So was Frank, because he had missed the original review in Long Grove. The new location opened a few months back just doing breakfast and lunch until they truly found their way, and when they announced they were ready to add dinner, we were ready to pay them a visit.
The new location is at the center of The Glen in Glenview ( the site of the old Glenview Naval Base) and the location they have is prime for all shoppers and area residents to be able to get there and enjoy the food they prepare. The menu here is what is termed “Visual”. Everything is on display with information and pricing right there. The staff also is right there to advise as to any options or sides that can be done. The “visual menu” is the food and then the deserts. You place your order, pay the bill, and are then handed a sign that has the name of a village or town in Italy. You bring this to your table and along the way, pick up silverware, napkins and any of the condiments needed for your meal.
When the staff member brings your meal ( breakfast, lunch or dinner), you will find yourself transformed to another place. Yes, the flavors and spices are just right. By the way, the staff member will tell you if an item has extra kick, so you can be sure, that if they didn’t do so, you will truly find happiness with your dinner. We were greeted by Lucia, who in our case, was not only our server, she was also our tour leader and bartender. Yes , they have liquor and a wonderful selection of wines. As you can see by the photos, the display menu looks good enough to eat, and I already know what I am going to try the next time we visit ( and I know that since The Glen is very close, we will be going back a number of times.)
I enjoyed Rigatoni with pork and Jane had the Fusilli. As you know, we also tasted each other’s dish and even Frank’s Pasta with Shrimp and Mike’s salmon. everything was just right and the salad and soup (minestrone) and garlic bread made for an Italian night for all.
For our desert,
Lucia brought us four different ones to taste. The bread pudding was probably the best that I have ever tasted ( and I have been doing bread pudding for decades). Mike ordered the Cannoli and Frank, the Italian cookies ( after all , he is Italian and it is Lent).

Sorelle is a charming, affordable family experience, where every member of the family can find something that will make them happy. It is far easier to dine out when the menu is comfortable food that will make everyone happy. On Saturday nights, they offer live entertainment as well, so if having a late dinner, one can enjoy a coffee with their desert and some marvelous entertainment. This is a clone of the Long Grove restaurant as far as service and flavors, and once again, a very affordable night out.
I already have some items picked out for the next visit:

They also have pizza and a host of other goodies!!!
