I am proud to announce that I am now a member of the Board of this marvelous theater program. My passion for the arts, in particular, theater, drew me to their company several years ago. I found that many people were unaware of this company and the work they do.
Through the performing arts, they work collaboratively to create inclusive and transformative experiences for individuals with disabilities to fully engage in the world.
Through SGT, the performers will gain confidence, creative self-expression and self-advocacy. The focus is on the student actor’s strengths and they work to shine in the spotlight.
Their programs include:
Musical Theater. ( ages 10-22)
Creativity in Motion- therapeutic movement classes for children (ages 7 and up).
Creating Outside the Lines: theater and improv for adults.
Peer mentor programming with disability inclusion training.
They produce 12 live performances per year.
The staff consists of special education teachers, therapists and theater arts professionals.
