Why did I choose “laser therapy”?

Back, several years ago, I had my first heart attack and learned to live on blood thinners. After the second set of stents, it grew worse. Every time I bumped into anything, even a nudge, a bruise appeared. It got so thta my grandkids thought I was in boxing matches. Last October, I went even further when I had a valve replacement (TAVRS) and the bruises continued to worsen. I found a product called Pro-Cure which helps a little, but one must applay it three times a day in order to see decent results. I thought, “ah, well. I guess I will just learn to live with it”.

BUT-

Last week, while attending the ribbon cutting in Skokie of Taylor Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, Dr. Taylor looked at my hands and said to come in for a laser treatment. He said that laser therapy can lessen any pain and increase the blood flow to the damaged area while accelerating the body’s natural process. I have known Dr. Taylor for years and trust him so I made the appointment. Today was day one ( with a second treatment to follow in two days). The process is quick and painless. I went into one of his rooms where I say the machine that does the work. Both Dr. Taylor and myself donned special goggles that must be worn during the procedure to protect our eyes and each hand was treated for five minutes.

Dr. Taylor had been trained to operate the machine so that the best results will take place and while it was very warm on my skin, while the process was being done, I also felt that my arthritis was easing.

This was like a two for one. I can see results and I am sure that phase two will be even better. This is just one of the specialties that is performed in this new office at 5550 West Touhy in Skokie ( suite 103) . Lots of free parking.

I know I am glad I did!

STEP TWO

This morning, I went back to Skokie for treatment number 2. I can see that the process takes a bit longer than anticipated as I am still taking the meds that contain the blood thinners, thus, it it hard to “put out the fire if you are still putting logs on the flames”.

I am seeing the difference and I am happy that the process is working. Next week, I will do two more applications and by then, who knows?

Visit THREE

Long holiday week-end and did a lot of moving. I kept my gloves on (for the most part) and today, I did the third treatment.

In spite of still being on scrips, and doing lots of manual labor ( lifting, packing, carrying etc). I think Doc Taylor’s treatment is just what “The Doctor ordered”. I see the hands looking much better.

Going back Thursday- feeling good about results!
