Jimmy Thai- “Ramen Eating Contest

I am pretty sure that the North Shore is well aware of my favorite Thai dining spot, Jimmy Thai in Deerfield. If you have been to this charmer in Deerfield ( located at 405 Lake Cook Road, right by the  Secretary of State Deerfield office), besides having great Thai food, they also feature Japanese Ramen. Jimmy has a slogan, “Ramen for Everyone!”.

If you are into Ramen, and you believe you are up to the challenge, get ready for something special in May.

Jimmy is preparing to offer the first ever “Ramen Eating Contest!

While he is still putting the rules together, he let it spill that there will be a limited number of eaters. They will each start with a bowl ( see the size he is holding) filled with  miso based ramen, toppings, noodles and then some. Each diner will have the option of using chopsticks or cutlery and all eaters will begin at one time.

Spotters will be in place to keep the eaters on target and the first one to empty his or her bowl, will be the grand prize winner with followers also in line for prizes.

So far, $500 in prizes will be awarded and more details to follow. I am letting you know so you can prepares for the event; to dine, or to watch, that is the question?
