Home for the Holidays- Omaha Symphony

Highly Recommended ****  Many of you are familiar with a local talent, Max Quinlan, who after winning Jeff Award after Jeff Award, headed off to Broadway, and has continued to be a “voice” in the world of theater. I for one miss watching him bring characters to life on our local stages, but know that when theater begins, he and his wife, the marvelous Siri Howard, will find their way to be on a stage here in town. After all, this is where it all started ( in Buffalo Grove) and his family still lives in the area. If you miss Max, here is an opportunity to see him ( and Siri) shine with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra as they present the Covid-19 rendition of “Home For The Holidays”.

The actual show took place just prior to the holiday, but will be available on stream thru January 23rd, so when you have a down time and need an uplifting experience, I can guarantee that you will indeed have a marvelous 90 plus minutes. The Symphony is conducted by Ernest Richardson and the stage direction and choreography is handled by Parker Esse. While they are on a symphony stage, there is a screen above the orchestra where one can see the amazing dance numbers with the six very talented dancers assembled. The “Jingle Bells” tap number is sensational and during the second half ( after a few little TV blurbs/they were co-sponsors) you will see “Favorite Things” ( “The Sound of Music”) as if it was a Bob Fosse number. Amazing!

This is a truly wonderful musical experience that is yours- you can make a donation of course, but it can be yours free by going to www.omahasymphony.org/holiday-stream.

Enjoy! I know that I did and so did those that I recommended it to. Even my good friend Jim, who lives in Omaha said that while he missed being in the auditorium, he felt the sounds of the holiday. You have until January 23- do not miss!
