“Disney On Ice” is back

Get ready Chicagoland! As the summer draws to an end and the kids go back to school, our minds turn to the wonderful summer we had and the joy of knowing that Feld Entertainment will soon bring " Disney on Ice" back to us. This year's production is "Treasure Trove" and is one that Disney has opened the vault for-these are the greatest gems from the Disney archives, brought to life on ice at first the Allstate Arena and then moving over to The United Center, thus allowing for people from the entire area to have easy access to one of the most spectacular shows to hit the ice.

Get ready Chicagoland! As the summer draws to an end and the kids go back to school, our minds turn to the wonderful summer we had and the joy of knowing that Feld Entertainment will soon bring ” Disney on Ice” back to us. This year’s production is “Treasure Trove” and is one that Disney has opened the vault for-these are the greatest gems from the Disney archives, brought to life on ice at first the Allstate Arena and then moving over to The United Center, thus allowing for people from the entire area to have easy access to one of the most spectacular shows to hit the ice.

Fifty PLUS Disney favorites will take the rink ( instead of stage) featuring oldies like “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs ( Disney’s FIRST full length animated feature) to “Tangled” one of their latest. Feld Entertainment, producers of these amazing shows, opted to make sure that “children of all ages” can enjoy some of their favorite characters. Remember, the parents and grandparents that come were once kids and each has a favorite Disney character to bring back some fond memories.

To make the show more family friendly, before the action begins, audiences will have the chance to see what the skaters do to prepare for the performance they are about to give. The warm up session will be led by The Incredibles (Disney/Pixar). The audience members who come early will have the opportunity to stretch with Mrs. Incredible, run in place with Dash, pump iron with Mr. Incredible and work up some energy with Violet.

Crowd interaction is what “Disney on Ice” is all about. Making the kids feel that they are part of the action and having entire families communicate with each other and the performers allows those in attendance to have treasured memories with their elders and siblings that will last a lifetime. Think about singing the rhythm with Sebastion doing “Under The Sea”, getting to be partt of Peter pan and Tinker Bell’s request to echo the tick tock of the crocodile or having Aladdin stop and shake your little hand. This is what makes “Disney on Ice” so special. The audience is involved.

Thrill to the characters of “Peter Pan”, “The Lion King”,”The Little Mermaid”, “Alice in Wonderland”, all classics as well as “Tangled” and “Princess and the Frog”, new adventures. “Treasure Trove” is in fact a treasure with all of the familiar music and characters and while they are not listed, “Disney on Ice”, as always, is hosted by Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Goofy and probably Pluto. Sometimes Daisy makes the trip as well as many other Disney guests. Get ready for a spectacular Fall in Chicago.
