The Skokie Theatre is getting ready to open the show that was ready to go as the world was “darkened” by the Covid-19 situation. The two stars, Jan Slavin and Carla Gorden were ready to go when this took place, but NOW, from July thru August, the show, an original musical from the producers of Wiesenthal and Golda’s Balcony, in partnership with MadKap Productions will open.
JULY 10th
The world-premiere musical begins its national tour in Skokie. Commedienne Jan Slavin and Gold Coast award-winner Carla Gordon alternately star at The Bubbie. At a “taping” of her fictional TV cooking show, Bubbie entertains you with comedy skits, original songs, and the sage advice that only a Bubbie can dispense.
After you’ve laughed your touchus off…after you’ve shed a few tears…after you’ve enjoyed songs like “Schmaltz”, “A Little Nosh”, and “Under the Chuppah” you’ll know that everyone needs a “Bubbie”.
While discussing with Producer/Director Wayne Mell, we asked a question on WCPT820 radio ( the question was to name three different fillings for the Purim specialty, Hamentashen. The fillings are as follows: Apricot, Prune, Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry ( and other fruits). My favorite is Apricot.
