As my readers and listeners know, Frank and I spent a morning at Will’s Place in Skokie in order to greet our listeners and readers as well as make them aware of this wonderful little gem of a restaurant in downtown Skokie. Will’s Place is a nonprofit cafe that creates meaningful jobs for adultswith disabilities, allowing them to fuel dreams, “one opportunity at a time”.
This charming little spot has an audience of followers who enjoy either breakfast or lunch as Will and his staff create special plates as well as some great baked goods ( MMMM cookies!!!)

Frank and I spend the morning of April 30th, bringing plates and beverages to the diners, as well as bussing and cleaning tables as they had a “full House” that morning. I found that many of our listeners came by to get one of the hard to get “Around The Town WCPT” coffee mugs, and one person actually decided to also make a donation besides paying for his meal. That is always an added extra, meaning more hours for another worker.
Will took some time away from the kitchen to pose with Frank and I, and as one might expect, one of the other workers wanted to join in. That is part of the intrigue and beauty of dining at Will’s. Not only is the food delicious ( they bake their own bread now), they are a great group of people who are attentive to your every needs. You might find the service to be the best you have even had.
