A visit to Rhapsody Theater with some regular listeners

With the crazy schedule of late, I was unable to attend the current show at The Rhapsody Theater in order to review for my readers and listeners. The show, “Extraordinaire!” direct from Paris is a wonderful and magical experience, so rather than miss it, I decided to do something special. I placed previous ticket winners’ names into a fish bowl ( since I have no fish, I borrowed a bowl from a friend) and picked out the name Debbie Dan, so I invited her and her husband Donald Yoshida to meet me at the theater today.

I have seen a lot of magic in my years, some far better than others and I must say, Alexandra Duvivier is magnificent. Not only is she a divine magician, she has a wonderful personality and the way she includes her audience, bringing many of them onto the stage and using them in the performance is perfect. Yes, I was involved, but not onstage. Hers is a two act production with 15 minutes for “potty break” or “get a drink”, and the second act has a trick that involved the entire audience ( I was greatly impressed to see almost a full house at 2 p.m. on a sunny Saturday afternoon). each of us had 4 playing cards at our table and we all followed her instructions as we tore the cards and shuffled and  tossed them with 1/2 a card on our heart and at the end, almost 100% of the crowd took the last remaining half and the one by their heart and guess what? They were the same card!

Since this is not a review, I will not tell you anymore about her magic, except that if you ever see her name on a coming soon, make sure you get to see her charming two hours of  elegant magic. FYI- She is one of the magicians that was able to fool Penn & Teller .  Ms. Duvivier is a second generation magician following in her father’s footsteps and perhaps she has exceeded his talents.

She is only here thru the 10th- visit https://rhapsodytheater.com

Rhapsody Theater is located at 1328 West Morse Avenue ( just steps away from the RED Line station ( MORSE AVENUE). They do have parking just east of the theater ( enter thru the alley)
