“The Carpenters Songbook: A Live Celebration” starring Christina Helene Braa as Karen

It has been over 40 years since Karen Carpenter passed away, but during those years, her music and sound have still been with us, and I propose that my great-grandchildren will be listening to songs like “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “Superstar”, “Close To You:, “Rainy Days and Mondays”, “Top Of The World,” and many others for generations to come.

I have been a witness to many Karen Carpenter impersonators, and have always felt since there is really no one who can be her, it is best if the singer interprets the feelings and attitudes of Carpenter in her music; it will make a greater impression. In speaking with Christina Helene Braa, I found her to be just that- a singer who understand the singer she is bringing to the stage, and one who truly appreciates the quality that Karen brought to the arena.

This is a tour that will be on the road for some time and lucky Chicago, while we don’t get the show IN Chicago, will have the opportunity to see and hear this quality show in Milwaukee ( the beautiful Uihlein Hall) on October 4th. They will also be headed to Joliet and other parts of Wisconsin.
