Most of us have played the board game Clue! It is a game that causes us to think, plot, plan and consider the who, where, what and why of a guest who is found dead. The game was so popular, they even produced a play and film to bring it to life. But did they bring it to life? Not really! Now, you do have the opportunity to be part of the game of Clue, but only thru the 17th of August.
If you have gone to Escape Rooms, you will love playing the immersive Clue: A Walking Mystery” now available in Skokie.
WHERE? Village Green Park in downtown Skokie located between the Skokie Village Hall and Skokie Public Library. Then, investigators will sneak their way through downtown Skokie trying to solve the mystery. The game will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
WHAT? The iconic family-favorite board game comes to life! Enter the world of CLUE in the interactive and immersive experience, Clue: A Walking Mystery.
I stopped by today and while I did not do the entire9 clues, I did see what one must do. My partner and I were able to decipher codes, open safe’s and find clues toward eliminating suspects, weapons, and locations. Some of the clues are IN the locations, others can be seen from the window. I will not divulge the “who’s who, or which ones”
There are nine locations that are all walkable and each team of players decides where to begin, so it won’t be as if you all arrive at the same place at the same time. The stores, all local businesses also offer some gifts or discounts during the trip. Example: Ace hardware a free bag of popcorn and others BOGO.
FYI- Rain or shine the game goes one so bring a little umbrella with you as there are lots of open air walkways. When you begin at The Skokie Library ( there is a tent) you will meet the staff and get your auction catalogue. Inside, all of the items that you need to know, and they will explain. They will also show you many items and give you a clue sheet/map of the area with one location as THE SOLUTION point.
WHEN? July 23rd – August 17th. Games begin every 20 minutes within these hours:
Wednesdays: Games begin at 1:00 PM, with the final game starting at 4:00 PM
Thursdays: Games begin at 4:40 PM, with the final game starting at 8:00 PM

Where to Park:

DOES EVERYBODY NEED TO HAVE A TICKET?
Yes, as this is a participatory experience, all present must have a ticket. We recommend this experience for gumshoes ages 8 and over.
ARE THERE DISCOUNTS?
We may occasionally release “clues” on our socials for special discounts. However, purchasing a ticket does entitle players to exclusive discounts at shops and eateries along the way.
DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE? OR CAN I JUST WATCH? WHAT IF I’M AN INTROVERT?
Introverts welcome! You’ll be solving the case with your own team at your own speed, so you never have to interact with other teams if you don’t want to.
I will say that compared to an “escape room”, this was far more fun and if you pay attention to the clues, you might find yourself solving the case!
ENJOY!
