Special Gifts Theatre is very near and dear to me. For many of my 50 plus years of doing Santa, I always found that making my annual visits to those with “special needs” were by far the most rewarding. The “kids” are open and honest and never hold back. They express themselves and their inner- feelings with a special quality.
Today Frank and I modeled the t-shirts they sent along with caps ( they sent them for Devin and Paul as well. Our mugs will come in handy keeping our beverage during each broadcast. Thanks! We will treasure these gifts.
Special Needs Theater is an organization dedicated around the creative adaptation of theater arts tp not only showcase an individual’s talent on stage, but to also provide a safe and supportive environment that helps them gin confidence, improve self-worth, navigate tricky social situations and cope with challenge.
EVEN DURING A PANDEMIC!
Peer mentors, directors and volunteers have shows their creativity and durability during the “year of Covid-19”, in order to continue the work they began some 20 years ago. BRAVO!
Frank and I are please to work with this organization and to promote them on WCPT-820 along with this website. In fact, I am willing to be a mentor for a production if we can work the schedule right. Musical comedy was my thing back in the day.
