Chicago Shakespeare leadership and artists joined Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to announce the return of Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks—the hallmark of the City’s “Night Out in the Parks” initiative and a summertime tradition for thousands of Chicagoans across the north, west and south sides of our city. A cornerstone of Shakespeare 400 Chicago—the celebration of Shakespeare’s 400 year legacy—the FREE FOR ALL Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks tour is the largest citywide event of the festival.Join us this summer for our fifth annual tour, as our cultural and civic partnership brings Twelfth Night to neighborhoods across the city. On each stop of the tour, a specially equipped truck rolls into the park, a stage unfolds and a company of professional actors shares the delight of Shakespeare with families and neighbors of all ages. Staged by Kirsten Kelly, this year’s tour features some of Shakespeare’s most poignant and playful characters, who bring this enchanting romantic comedy to life.
