Chicago Children’s Theatre has used the Covid 19 crisis to get their creative juices flowing. Their theater artisits have created a voice story based audio journey through Chicago neighborhoods;
The first three episodes took families on a adventures through
Little Village ( a Mexican Community 26th Street)
South Shore ( 71st Street and Jeffrey)
North Pond ( Lincoln Park) Nature Sanctuary
The program is FREE. It is educational, releases stress and gets the family out of the house on an adventure that will become a memory.
Lace up your sneakers, pop in your ear buds and take a walk through some of Chicago’s most distinctive areas. Each pod is under one hour and comes with the walking map to guide you through the journey. There are also some games, recipes and other family activities. There will be more ( and weather will allow most even as the holiday season approaches).
Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Chicago Children’s Theater company, Jaqueline Russell, joined us on Sunday’s Around The Town on WCPT 820 am and talked about the idea, the concept and the future.
The walks are still available https://chicagochildrenstheatre.org/event/walkie-talkies/
