“The Uncanny Attic: Chapters E-H” Steppenwolf “LOOKOUT” program

LookOut is Steppenwolf’s performance series that presents the work of artists and companies across genre and form. Emerging artists and performance legends, quintessential Chicago companies and young aspiring ensembles, familiar Steppenwolf faces and new friends. Buy a ticket and support the local arts scene; the majority of each purchase goes straight to artists.

All performances take place in Steppenwolf’s 1700 Theater, an intimate and flexible venue nestled behind Front Bar: Coffee and Drinks.

The camp macabre world of Edward Gorey returns to Steppenwolf in the second installment of this absurdist dark comedy anthology told through puppetry, clowning, dance, live music, song, animation and an unhealthy dose of death.

I did not see the first portion of this, but based on the alphabet, I would think there are more letters to come.

The combination of performance arts was amazing and some very talented people get to show off their talents. They have a number of future performances coming up, but, be aware they are mostly 2 days each time.

I wasn’t certain what I was going to see, but found myself caught into the rapture of these scenes that might be more skits or opportunities for each performer to excel and play the audience. This production was a sort of story within a story using almost every type of genre available. If I were to rate this, I would have to say it is recommended.

All of the productions take place in the intimate 1700 Theater at Steppenwolf.
