[rating=4] Magic is magic. At least that is what I have heard over the years. BUT, what if it is not just the everyday magic that we have been watching for eons. Jamie Allen is that special magician, that different type of magician. Jamie’s talent is different ,unlike other magicians you may have seen. He is funny and incorporates technology in a way (like he says) that “allows one to watch and wonder.” He performs new tricks he created but he also does some classics. He speaks to the audience in a way that has everyone engaged. You want to know how his mind works so you might just figure out his tricks. With today’s technology, Jamie is able to do tricks that will show you magic in a different light!
This show is something the whole family can enjoy, but I think it’s best for kids over the age of 10. He teaches speaks of the history of magic, and pays homage to Houdini and other famous magicians. He also is a big fan of Steve Jobs, which is evident in the show’s title, his approach, and a lot of the tricks. I imagine younger kids may have some trouble understanding his sophisticated show. Jamie is very genuine and humble. His life story is sweet and it is obvious how passionate he is about magic, and most importantly, how thrilled he is to be performing in the US!
He is known as The United Kingdom’s original “technology magician” as he and his team incorporate classical magic with cutting edge technology. creating a unique, once in a life-time theatrical experience. The use of laser beams, digital tablets and social media will make you feel that you are in the Apple Store on North Avenue on a Saturday afternoon.
Of course I won’t reveal any secrets, but the most impressive trick “lasts about three minutes, but took him most of his adult life to perfect.” You’ll never forget what you see in this show!
