***** SINCE 1997 Blue Man Group has been playing nonstop at the Briar Street Theatre (except during the pandemic), the only other show to surpass this record is” Late Nite Catechism “which opened in 1993.
This is not your typical musical ! This is a very modern expression of music using a combination of science and technology. Now the experience has been remastered to reach a new audience. This new staging includes 17 immersive screens, all new videos, and a new show opening that I really enjoyed. The show still contains the same acts as before and even more interaction with the audience. Remember, if you are in the first 5 rows center, you will get wet. The show is still 90 minutes in length, with no intermission.
The show has gained a following over the last 26 years, they all seem to enjoy reading the LED ticker machine with birthday and anniversary wishes to audience members. The show is still geared toward families with
children and adults being able to enjoy.. This is a show with a great party atmosphere, 26 years later I still enjoyed it. Since the Blue Men never speak, there is no language barrier so tourists visiting Chicago can enjoy being entertained by these three bald Blue Men from a world that is different than ours.
As always, the show is performance art filled with moments of awe, musical feats, and great comedy.
“Blue Man Group” is performed at The Briar Street Theatre, 3133 N. Halsted.
Performances are as follows:
Monday 8 p.m.
Tuesday 8 p.m.
Thursday 8 p.m.
Friday 8 p.m.
Saturday 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Ticket prices start at $36 and up, and can be purchased by calling the box office at 773-348-4000 or visit www.briarstreetbroadway.com
BTW, there are no bad seats in this theatre. Remember though, the first five rows are “the wet zone”.
Parking is available in their lot for $17 cash. It makes it so much easier to exit after
the show, especially on Cub night games.
If you have never seen this show, then welcome, you will enjoy it. If you have seen it before,
come again, it is now more intense and still a great experience.
