Where’s The Beef?”- after the shipment!
This is a follow-up to my original story about this butcher-to-home company based in Morton Grove. When we last discussed the meats sent, they had just arrived and then with the holidays and the kids off to Mexico for Winter Break, and my weeks as Santa, we had to “wait until next year”!
Well, next year is here, so tonight, my son-in-law, who is quite a chef and a master of the bar-b-que, prepared the dinner. The items sent to us by Second City Prime Steak and Seafood were:
1 8 0z skirt steak ( prime)
1 14 oz boneless Wagyu Ribeye
1 12 oz Berkshire Pork Chop
2 7 oz wagyu short ribs ( boneless)
2 5 oz filet mignon
Vince also included some special marinade and seasoning as developed by their staff. I must say, the seasonings and marinade were terrific.
Mike used the marinade and seasoning on the steaks ( 4 hours) and the Wagyu meats, three hours. The Rib Eyes and the short ribs were done in the oven as was the pork roast and the steaks of course, on the barbecue in the back yard.
We only added potatoes to complete the meal which fed four adults and three children, one of which is my grandson, Adam, a teen-ager who probably east as much or more than most adults ( they say these are the growing years). There was plenty of food for everyone and the flavors and meat were amazing. Mike claims that these were of the highest quality and compared the meats to the best of the butchers on the North Shore.
When I shared with him some of the pricing from Second City, and the fact that they ship in the local area FREE, he said that this was definitely a great bargain and a way to shop for meats. I am sure his neighbors have already hear about tonight’s dinner. Want to see more, visit www.secondcityprime.com or call 1-800 899-7181
