***** There are a great number of dining spots that only offer breakfast/lunch/brunch menus. Most of them are pretty similar in menu items, and while prices may vary, the quality is pretty much the same. I have mentioned many of these spots in the last few years and they have all been terrific spots at which to enjoy a meal. Over the past few months, I received several calls about a new spot in Lincolnshire. The building itself is not new. In fact, there have been several restaurants in the space, but they have all been pretty much the same- a typical breakfast/lunch/brunch space. The callers told me that adding the Latin flair has made a difference and so a road trip to Lincolnshire and Plenty of Huevos-“doing everything with character”.
They are hidden in The Village Green Center at 300 Village Green in suite 100. This is right near Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire ( Milwaukee Avenue and Route 45 just North of Route 22). This is the building on the far East with plenty of parking and a wonderful outside patio ( pet friendly). The menu is filled with great choices and as Frank put it, very affordable. I will also tell you that the portions are quite ample. Our server , Maria, made sure that we had everything we needed. Seeing that we share every choice, she made sure that we had fresh silver and plates for each course of the meals we tasted.
We had one of their many skillets- the Denver: diced ham, onions, bell peppers and mozzarella cheese. they also have plenty of omelets. French Toast is one of my favorite breakfast dishes and while I enjoy the Challah bread, the Churro style served here was terrific. The bread is fried and dipped in cinnamon sugar and topped with cream. It was served with three dipping options- tres leches, strawberry and my fav- chocolate. We all loved these and each had a different favorite sauce.
If you are a breakfast space, pancakes MUST be there and they are! We tasted a few plain buttermilk, but the Blueberry stuffed was enchantingly delicious. Stuffed with blueberry mascarpone filling- wow! For our truly Mexican dishes, the Chilaquiles- tortilla chips dipped in homemade salsa with two eggs ( up) sour cream, queso fresco and cilantro. you can spice this one up to your pleasure.
The Enchilada- tortilla filled with shredded chicken, dipped in homemade salsa, sour cream, queso fresco and cilantro- to die for! and the Chorizo Benedict is far superior to a typical eggs benedict. While we enjoyed our coffee, it was suggested that we try the very special Cafe De Olla, a coffee made with cinnamon sugar that has great flavor and no after taste. This is served with some very special cookies that will melt in your mouth ( if dipped).
They do have wraps ,sandwiches, soups, a kids menu ( a beautiful grilled cheese sandwich) and they have a special Senior Menu. The crepes looked divine and we saw a salad go by that seemed to be a meal for two.
They are open 7 days a week
7:30 am- 2:30 p.m.
Phone number is 224-804-6179
Plenty of free parking- ENJOY! I know we did.
