[rating=5]Jane had a visitor in for the holiday week-end and since we had talked about our visits to Casati’s, we thought we should take her down to Fullerton and Clark. It was a delightful evening for outdoor dining and their terrace/patio area is delightful. One forgets that they are on the bust intersection of Clark and Halsted, feeling as if they are somewhere in Italy.
Rather than go through the entire menu, we had noted when we were doing our review an item called The Bistecca Florentine King of the Steak- 45 ounces of steak, so why not? forst we did have some drinks and as an appetizer some delicious crispy brussel sprouts with a tangy sauce. We also ordered Casati’s Bianca Pinsa ( White Pizza) a wonderful thin pizza with a perfect crispiness to the crust.
All of this was just a great tease for the main event. It took 45 minutes, but time well spend. The steak was perfect and the presentation beautiful. All three of us truly enjoyed every bite and guess what? Tomorrow night, I will place the remaining slices and the bone itself ( with some juicy meat still on it) on the BBQ and have one more fling at this King of Steaks. Then I can say, “the King is dead” “Long live the king” until we return to 444 West Fullerton Avenue in Chicago to do it again. if you want to taste this amazing dinner call 773-857-1237.
