“Tis the season- at Navy Pier”

As the holiday season begins to see weather changing and Christmas spirits begin to rise, Navy Pier, once again (12th year) is getting ready to bring Chicago area residents the most wonderful family fun with its “Winter Wonderfest” presented by Bank of America. For those who have never experienced this delightful world of fantasy for the family, Winter Wonderfest is a 170,000 square foot holiday indoor amusement park, with indoor ice skating, inflatable slides ( some really great family fun) rides ( for young , old and young at heart souls), shows, decorating your own cookies, visits with Santa, displays of holiday spirit, all under roof, so no matter the weather, your family can have fun together!

The Fest itself runs from November 30th through January 6th ( excluding Christmas Day and early hours on Christmas Eve. We have been visiting this exciting “happening” since the inception and as our grand kids have grown up, the rides and attractions have done so as well. There are separate areas for the toddler and the teens and a marvelous Ferris Wheel. The cost for this marvelous experience is $20 including ice skating ( with skates), but can be purchased online for a discount by going to www.navypier.com. If you do it this prior to November 26th (Cyber Monday) you can save $4 per ticket ( regular and premium) Regular ( no skating) $15 , online. Both tickets ( which are in reality wristbands are $1 more at the door).

The wristband allows for grandparents to come an watch without having to buy any tickets, but they cannot go on anything with you. They can watch the shows and of course the smiles on your faces and the glee in your heart. Every year they add some new features, so once we attend ( and we will) I will tell you more about the special rides, attractions and hours.
