Running out of projects to keep the family sane? I know you can only watch so much TV , even though we have hundreds of shows and movies t select from, and so do others.
Prairie Grass Cafe, (601 Skokie Blvd.; Northbrook, IL; 847-205-4433), has created a “Kids Kitchen crew” Activity Kit for kids and families to enjoy making pizza together. The kit is available by pre-order on Saturdays for pick up on Sundays. Each kit includes all of the ingredients to make the perfect individual size 9 inch pizza: pizza dough, pizza sauce, Mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, bacon, and sauteed peppers. To make the meal complete, Prairie Grass Cafe includes cut raw vegetables and dip, and raw cookie dough to bake approximately 6 cookies (depending on size) for dessert. The cost for the kit is $15. Visit the Prairie Grass Cafe website to check out daily curbside to go specials and register for their newsletter for menu and event notifications.
Here is an opportunity to spend some time with the kids, creating something that will be enjoyed by the family as they either watch yet another movie or maybe even sit around the table and talk about their week. I would love to hear from you as to how the pizza turned out. Sarah is one heck of a chef, so I am sure what you make will do you “proud”. You can reach me at albresloff@yahoo.com
