This weekend, out in Oak Park , there will be a fundraiser for a
wonderful organization, The Oak Park Animal Care League.
Open Door Theatre (right off 290…. very easy to get to
from the city and the burbs!) is hosting us for two
different concerts:
Family Howliday Singalong on Saturday
morning December 17th at 10:30am: This would be great
one for anyone with kiddos under 12. It will be about an
hour long with lots of fun singalongs, dancing, games, and
general rocking out!
Howliday Cabaret is on Sunday evening December 18th at
7pm:
Sunday evening will be favorite holiday classics, plus a few
Michael Mahler originals. It won’t be super
long–probably 80 minutes tops, so if you have work on
Monday morning you’d be done by 8:30. We rehearsed last
week, and I think we’ve put together a really lovely
program. Audrey’s (Billings)voice is just beautiful and Mike is
playing all the instruments (as well as acoustically rocking
a Mariah Carey holiday classic that is worth the price of
admission..!) and of course, I will be singing as well (Dara Cameron)
You can buy tickets at www.opendoortheater.net
(just make sure you are selecting the specific event, either
the singalong or the cabaret) There are only 70 seats in the
theatre, so please buy in advance to make sure you get a
seat!
All the proceeds from both events will go
directly to the Animal Care League (visit their
website www.animalcareleague. org/)
to learn more. And we will
also accept donations of pet supply goods at the
door— leashes, dog beds, unopened food,
etc!
We really hope to raise some money for this
awesome organization. Cuz, I’m not sure you know, but…
we really love animals.
If you are an animal lover, this should be a lot of fun.
Say hello!
