Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille comes to Schaumburg

From time to time I have talked about this wonderful dining spot and of course it’s amazing pork chop! We have gone to Oakbrook several times and as I have said, over and over, a trip worth taking. Now, they are opening in Schaumburg, in the heart of where the action is, on Golf Road directly across the street from Woodfield Shopping Center. Here we are in the Covid 19 era where restaurants are suffering, and Perry’s continued its growth and promise to service the Northwest and Northern suburbs.

Last night was a preview of what diners will find. The restaurant is amazing in its layout. There is a magnificent patio area attached to Bar 79. This is a unique space with two fireplaces, walls that close off the elements and an overall feel that will impress you and keep you safe. The restaurant itself has tables and booths that are spaced to meed the CDC standards and they even have some areas where private dining can be handled for very small parties.

The menu at Perry’s is very solid with their agenda of serving the best of steaks and of course their signature pork chop, but they do have many items that will please the palates of all in your party. Perry’s began as a butcher shop and deli  in Texas. This was 1979. Several years later, son Chris convinced his dad to add some tables and chairs allowing people to dine in. They grew and expanded quickly. In 1993, the first Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille opened and the rest is history!

Frank and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff in Schaumburg. Of greater importance, Frank had never been to a Perry’s so the drinks and food were amazing to him. For me, it was a re-living the Oakbrook experience of the past.

For the opening preview, they had us start in the patio area for the first course. Three “paired” cocktails with menu items. Peachy Glen, Smoky Rita and Thyme Lemon Drop were the beverages that went with Lobster Tempura, Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms and Perry’s Signature Fried Asparagus with Jumbo Lump Crab—to die for!

We were then escorted to the main dining room for “tasting 2”-

Here we were served a glass of their own Pinot Noir paired with:

Everything crusted Ahi Tuna ( a sort of sushi dish, very flavorful), Chateaubriand ( a signature dish at Perry’s) – three slices with three different sauces and last, but not least, Perry’s famous Pork Chop Bites ( bite size morsels of the famous 7 finger high pork chop. As tasty but easier to consume.

Course three was our dessert- an old fashioned ( one of my favorite cocktails that can also be an after dinner drink when you add house-made coffee syrup- delish! We also had a flaming dessert ( Perry’s is known for this). Ours was the Nutty D’Angelo- crushed pecans flambe’ed with brown sugar and brandy then served over vanilla ice cream dipped in white chocolate and toasted almonds- superb. I have had their Baked Alaska and found this to be even better!

If you have a celebration coming up or just ready to get out and dine in style, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is a spot that will make your evening special. They make sure that every diner feels special, a sign of a quality restaurant.

They have some great specials- Pork Chop Friday Lunch is one to mark down  A smaller pork chop with mashed potatoes at only $16.

Sunday Supper Special- a three course Pork chop dinner that will astound you and they also have a new way to dine- Chop Online as well as pick-up and delivery.

They are located at  1780 East Golf Road in Schaumburg. They have valet parking as well as plenty of spaces. Their phone number is 847-648-7451 and website www.PerrysSteakHouse.com
