“For The First Time”

Broadway star and Chicago favorite Karen Mason returns to her love of cabaret as she makes her debut at Drury Lane’s beautiful and intimate Cabaret Room. Featuring uniquely show-stopping numbers, For The First Time highlights Mason’s vocal prowess, moving charisma, and overall versatility – few performers can transfer seamlessly between television, recording, Off-Broadway, and Broadway as Karen Mason has. This legend has graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Feinstein’s 54 Below, and more, and The Cabaret Room at Drury Lane is thrilled to welcome her back to Chicago.

I spoke with Karen today on my radio show, Around The Town Chicago “live” on 820AM, WCPT about her upcoming three shows at Drury Lane Oakbrook. She is a bubbly warm personality who can “belt with the best”, having appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, television and recording. After touring with “Love Never Dies” ( Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to “phantom of the Opera”, playing Madame Giry, she found that the younger actors were in awe of all of her “FIRSTS”, and thus realized that this was the perfect concept for a cabaret type performance.

Knowing that Drury Lane Oakbrook, is the last of the Drury Lanes, it made sense for her “First” to be there, so here we are:

Friday May 17th   7: 30 p.m.

Saturday, May 18th  7:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 19th, 6:30 p.m.

General admission $60, Gold Circle  $70

There is a food and drink min. of $25 and doors open one hour prior to performance. Seating is somewhat limited as this is not in the theater, but in a more intimate Cabaret space. If you have heard this lady sing, you know the power she brings to the stage. If you have not had the pleasure, this is one that you will want to be part of.

Call 630-530-0111 or visit http://www.DruryLaneTheatre,com I will be there Sunday, after next week’s show!
