Cindy Fee ( the singer of the theme from “The Golden Girls”) reviewed by Frank Meccia

A NIGHT OF SONG AND STORIES
CINDY FEE

Cindy Fee’s performance at the Venus Lounge and Cabaret (part of the Mercury Theatre Chicago)  sounds like a nostalgic and captivating experience for any fan of the Golden Girls theme song, “Thank You For Being A Friend.” Her journey from Detroit, Michigan, to Raytown, Missouri, and eventually to a successful music career is inspiring. The fact that she has worked with iconic artists like Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Whitney Houston adds even more intrigue to her story.

It’s impressive how Cindy’s career has spanned different genres, from background singing to commercial jingles, showcasing her versatility and talent. Ending the night with the iconic song itself must be a magical moment for everyone in the audience. Her personal pianist, Jo Ann Daugherty, is playing the background music for this evening. I can listen all night to the way she plays that piano.

For those who appreciate music and storytelling, the opportunity to attend one of Cindy Fee’s four shows at the Venus Lounge is a promise of an unforgettable evening. The dates of May 25, 31st, and June 1st are set to fill the venue with music and memories, creating an atmosphere that is sure to excite.
