Here we are, almost at the end of a very unusual ( and very HOT) summer- Labor day is just around the corner. Many of you have inquired about the fabulous work that Joe Salerno did on landscaping our rather plain balcony. We all recall the transformation that he brought to our Wheeling abode, but the question would always be, in a summer such as this, how did they do?
Everything, for the most part is blooming as it should. We did have one smaller plant that due to some of the storms appeared to be a “goner”. Jane was ready to toss, but Joe assured us that there was still a live plant in this container. He said that you can scratch the branches and if green, there is still “life”, so cut off the dead areas and watch as it comes booming back. I did, and Joe, as always , was right as rain. Two days later, we could see new buds and I am sure that in a week or so, we will see even more.
While the season is almost over, you might want to do some fall planting or start to plan for 2021, which we all hope will be a far better year. You can reach Joe Salerno of Lifestyle Designs
