This is more a story than a review as I was only able to taste the Bombay Bowl “express Bowl” when I attended the Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening of the newest venture of the Rawat family in Northbrook. The restaurant is located in the White Plains Shopping Center located at 3111 Dundee Road, and while it is nestled in the back corner, I feel this will be a destination dining spot for the entire family and in particular, those who want to “eat healthy”. The full name for the new restaurant is Bombay Bowl American Chinese Bistro, which is a tongue twister, but I can tell you from the quick dinner that I had along with the other Northbrook Chamber members who came by for the “ribbon cutting”, the food was delicious.
American Chinese is a style of Chinese cuisine that has been developed by Americans ( of Chinese descent) and often are very different from the food one would purchase in China. The tastes have been changed for the American Palate. This is what I found to be the case at Bombay Bowl.

He is Political Science Graduate of University of Delhi and has a Post Graduate Diploma in HRD.
Meeting his staff, I could see the excitement they all shared in the new venture and hearing the wonderful statements by the chamber members who dined with us last week, I am excited about coming back for the full review of the entire menu ( which by the way has a children’s menu for those who do not savor the flavor of the Chinese cuisine.
The restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner:
Monday- Saturday 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
Sunday noon until 8 p.m.
Their slogan is “Fast, Fresh and Healthy” and based on what I saw and tasted, I would say they have it perfect.
You can opt to fill your bowl, buffet style ( around $8.49, a bargain) or opt to eat off the menu where you can order the specific items you want. The choice is yours. I will tell you there are no refills on the bowl, but the bowl is huge and I doubt anyone can eat what they put in it, without going crazy.
