On yesterday’s show ( WCPT820 am Around The Town with Al Bresloff ) we got to meet one of the stars of the production of “Rent” about to open as part of the broadway In Chicago season. The show will open on October 5th and run thru the 10th at the CIBC Theatre ( in my heart and mind, it will ALWAYS be The Shubert Theatre) . Lyndie is very thankful for another opportunity to bring this character to life. She has dedictaed her career to “Maboppa” who gave her the spirit to live her live to the fullest!
We spoke with Lyndie Moe who is returning in the role of Maureen ( for a second tour) and had a wonderful conversation about Jonathan Larson’s masterpiece that to many is a modern version of “La Boheme”.
This is the first production to open in one of the BIC theater’s and one that is loved by young and old.
For 25 years, Larson’s musical has inspired us to choose love over fear and to live without regret. The show follows a year in the lives of the characters- artists and friends and neighbors all struggling to follow their dreams without selling out.
The show is far more than “just a musical”! It is a rite of passage and a source of joy and strength. In it we learn about “family” from a different perspective.
The performance schedule for “Rent” is as follows:
Tuesday, 10/5 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday 7:30 p.m.
Thursday 7:30 p.m.
Friday 7:30 p.m.
