Rebecca’s Dream is a leading advocate for mental health awareness. Since 2018, we have been offering college scholarships in memory of the late Dr. Harlan Haimes. The scholarship program, dedicated to reducing the stigma associated with mental illness, will award five scholarships to qualified high school seniors in Illinois.
Dr. Haimes, with his unwavering dedication and devotion, played a pivotal role in Rebecca’s Dream’s mission to reduce the stigma of mental health disorders. We seek to honor his legacy by recognizing and supporting five students who share a commitment to combating the stigma surrounding mental health.
Open to: All high school seniors in Illinois
Essay Topic: In order to ‘CHANGE THE FACE OF DEPRESSION,’ we must change one mind at a time. Explain in your own words, what you have done and continue to do to reach out to those in need and, in doing so, how you are helping to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.’
Deadline: February 28, 2024.
