Music is special to me ( and perhaps to you!). Many Chicago theatre-goers know Cory Goodrich, a performer that has graced pretty much every stage in and around town. We have also seen her doing commercials and on some of the local TV shows. In addition to her acting, writing and singing, Cory has become an artists. I have one of her works on my office wall. When attending her “post-Covid” concert in Munster, she showed some of her brilliant artwork. We were preparing for a move and I knew that one of her pictures would be PERFECT! ( so I bought it). It now hangs in my new office/guest room and from what I saw, the actual picture, which I have titled “Sunday in the Park with Cory” is on the inside jacket of her new album, “Long Way Around”.
The music that Cory along with Ethan Deppe ( of the “Quiet Regret”) in this album is amazing and can be tied into the book that Ms Goodrich recently published (Folksong: A Ballad of Death, Discovery and DNA”) a review of said book can be found on this website as well.
With most of the theater and entertainment world shut down these past 18 plus months, many of our talented people have struggled. Some, with so much time on their hands, have added to their skills. Cory is one of those. Her book is beautiful, her artwork amazing ( and honest) and her music spell binding and enchanting.
It is available in many ways.
To quote Ms Goodrich:
” You can help get the word out by liking me on Spotify, sharing the album or specific songs on playlists ( this is a HUGE help) or just listening!
