Lightscape at Chicago Botanical Gardens for the 2020/2021 season is SOLD OUT! I am pretty sure that because of the lack of other holiday treats, and people searching for entertainment, family style, the numbers were greater than normal. Add t this the CDC regulations where they allowed only 25% of the normal crowds and with the social distancing, even less. We did attend with our kids and grandkids and once again, the arrangement of colors, lights and music were rich and spellbinding. Last night it was around 67 degrees on our arrival and they were able to keep the crowds mitigated. I did see some people sans masks, but the staff immediately advised ” mask on, or exit the display”. In fact they were there to make sure that no “bunching up took place”.
The evening was all that I expected, beauty and peace of mind, walking outdoors and seeing and hearing the feel of the season with complete safety.
The dates this year are November 13th thru January 3rd. For those that are holding tickets, you are in for a treat! For those that missed out, might I suggest that you sign up for the mailing list at
that way you will learn the 2021/22 dates and have the opportunity to purchase tickets right away. This is a great family experience, no matter the weather .
By the way, they did have the mid-point refreshments ( in spite of Covid, they found a way)!
