I count myself a lucky man. I get to see marvelous works of theater and dine in some of Chicago’s best restaurants. I also am one privileged guy as I get to join Dobra in her kitchen at Delightful Pastries where I learned the process for making Paczki’s for “Fat Tuesday”. You can learn a great deal from this marvelous baker. Yes, YOU CAN.
As it turns out, Dobra has classes in her kitchen and they are available to you.
Coming up on November 4th- STRUDEL CLASS ($85)
Learn the art of making Austrian strudel. From noon until 3 p.m. you and a class of 14 ( maximum) will learn the full process, and after completion, will have a perfect strudel to take home and share with your family.
November 18th- Pie and Crumble Class- ($85)
Learn how to make the perfect dough from scratch into a perfect pie crust. Many choices during this time of year- you can opt for the crumble-over-the-crust pie, but either way, you will love ( as will your family) the results of your day in the kitchen. From noon to 3 p.m. ( all classes are limited to 14 people)
December 2nd- Cookie Mani Class- cookies, cookies and even more cookie
This one , only 12 students and is kid-friendly.
and one week later, on December 9th- German Stollen Class This one is $50
This is what many call “fruit cake”.
One of the beautiful parts of taking the class is making new friends, tasting new tastes and having sweet memories every time you bake.
