Illuminarium at Navy Pier

Navy Pier Welcomes Illuminarium!

Where the Crystal Garden once sat on the second floor of Navy Pier, we now have a thrilling new experience. While it is not completed as yet, the experience can be had today in what is a pop-up  that will initiate the start of something very special joining the amazing array of experiences that Navy Pier has added to Chicago’s Lakefront. When I think back to my youth and what this structure was: first an actual building that housed the United States navy, then as a branch of The University of Illinois, before they built the Chicago Circle Campus, then as a convention Hall where trade shows took place, and then under Mayor Jane Byrne, the start of what we have to day, I feel the energy that exudes from the structure and the city around it!

I love Navy Pier! The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre complex, the Children’s Museum, the dining spots, the attractions like “Flyover Chicago”, and this new one as well as the boat rides and everything that attracts tourists ( and Chicagoans) to this wonderful space. Now, we can also visit space and /or go on a Safari. You can also rent the space for private parties and meetings. Imagine having a dinner party where you are visiting the moon1

SPACE: A JOURNEY TO THE MOON & BEYOND

In an out-of-this-world immersive experience, take an extraordinary journey across the galaxy. Fly through a technicolor nebula, kick up dust on the moon, see Saturn’s rings up close, and weave through an asteroid belt. A giant leap into the unknown, SPACE will transport you to places you’ve only ever imagined.

WILD: A SAFARI EXPERIENCE

Come face-to-face with the world’s most exotic animals in their natural habitats in this unique cinematic experience. Take in the majestic landscapes, gaze at the splendor of the savanna’s sunrise, feel the wonder of a Kenyan sky lit up by stars.

Illuminarium activates all your senses and places you into the world unfolding around you. Our original show, WILD, is brought to life through 4K laser projection, and 3D audio.
