“Healthy Eating” week three begins

Happy Monday! This morning we did our weight -in and although it was nothing sensational- I lost 2 ounces, Jane one pound MORE, we are still on-track. Our body chemistry gets in the way, and since we were both fighting off illness last week, taking meds, it is possible that we were not at 100% towards reaching any weight loss goals. The fact that we did not “gain”, considering we went to the movies and tried a new restaurant Saturday, means we are doing just fine!

Starting week three, we began tonight with meat- yes, meatballs, pasta and veggies. scrumptious!

Week two is complete- weighed in this morning-   my loss 8 pounds 6 ounces

Jane      6 pounds  6 ounces

getting ready to receive our next order to see what exciting meals will be delivered. So far, we have not seen a duplicate. Not sure how long that can last, but I will tell you that slow and easy does work.-

It is hard to document every dish, but I will tell you that the assortment is amazing. So far, no duplicates at all! That is pretty impressive for a healthy dining program that keeps you in bounds.

Here is tonight’s dinner. There are two pictures- the first is the way they present it on their menu, the second, is my taking it out of the container, and placing it on a paper plat. It may not be as pretty, but I must tell you it was flavorful and quite satisfying.

Here we are, the start of March, and Jane and I are ready to begin a new adventure- healthy eating with prepared foods from Seattle Sutton. This morning we received an e-mail that our order had left the factory/kitchens and would be delivered soon. The boxes arrived a few hours later and I brought them up to unbox and place in the fridge. I am glad that we had the foresight to empty out the fridge as we had 18 meals to put in ( and on Thursdays delivery, we will have 24).

The boxes were larger than anticipated ( and far heavier) as they are packed to perfection with dry ice, allowing them to not be a problem with delivery and unboxing for home fridge. We did that and broke the boxes down for our recycling bin ( we are in a condo). The boxes also included a “welcome package” and the list of what was included by day and meal. I am on the 2000 calories per day and Jane on the 1200. By the way, we began our morning with a weigh-in so we could do this properly and see the results.

The “welcome Kit” includes a carry-bag that is thermal so one can keep a meal cold when going to an office or place of work ( or school). The enclosed booklet explains the Seattle Sutton philosophy and offers suggestions on  beverages and dairy products (non-fat milk daily is of great import for healthy eating). If questions arise, they have dietician nutritionists available to answer them and keep you on the road to success. Since our meals arrived at 11 am. we will skip the breakfast ( a swiss cheese egg bake- giving to our gatehouse workers) and do the lunch a pecan-cranberry mixed salad.              I am anxiously waiting to enjoy the grilled salmon with creamy dill sauce for dinner. DAY 1

The dinner was terrific, –but I ate Jane’s instead of mine.

Day 2

Tuesday morning and day two. For the most part, my morning meal is a min-bagel with cream cheese and two slice of lox per half. I have been doing this for eons unless we go out on a breakfast/brunch review. This morning I am dining on a wheat croissant ( 2 in my meal, 1 for Jane) served with figs, apple slices, marmalade and brie. Easy to do, tasty to eat and I am pretty sure a lot healthier than my usual fare!

While Jane had some errands to run, and we dined on our lunches at different times, we both agreed it was much nicer to eat other than “fast food” or heavy meals at lunch. The apple, my second of the day was more fruit than normal for me.

This was a very healthy lunch with items that I would never consider before, and yet, found tasty.

Dinner- chicken schnitzel with pasta and veggies- wow!

I have probably eaten more veggies in two days than I would in any given week. I do have to say, just two

days in- I am feeling my energy level even higher than normal ( which is pretty high).

Can’t wait until Wednesday morning’s superfood Brioche French Toast!

WE have completed three days of dining healthy and each of us has lost three pounds. That is a pound a day and while I am sure that will not be the norm, I can tell you that energy levels are higher, and I do not find myself craving food between meals. The boxes arrived this morning, I opened them, separated the meals and the recycle items and our fridge is full again. Tonight is a scheduled go to the kids house for dinner, but we will be taking tonight’s Seattle Sutton meal in the thermal bags included with the program, and enjoy our meal with the kids as they eat their meal.

Our weigh-in days will be every Monday and Thursday morning, before the next boxes arrive. I will keep you appraised of the activity and I must tell you that I am looking forward to the  Acapulco Taco Pie. From what Ron Santo and Lou Manfredini have said, one of the best of the best! The first week is over- this morning’s breakfast of a sausage, muffin and yogurt with fruit was delish and as we await week two menu Monday-Wednesday, we weighed in. Jane lost 4 pounds, and I lost 5.4. I have looked at my program and asked that they bring my calories down as I am finding I cannot finish the portions at 2000 calories. We will see the change on Thursday’s delivery. If you listen to my show from yesterday ( March 9th) you will learn more about Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating from the President of the company,

their number is 800-442-3438  www.seatllesutton.com

We are at the halfway point of week two. I am reducing my calorie count per meal as I am finding myself not finishing the meals. Why waste? This morning, Jane and I both weighed in

Jane is down 4 pounds

I am down 4.8 pounds ( pretty close to five)

The program is working pretty much as advertised. Slow and easy is the system AND HEALTHY, TOO!!!!
