Happy Anniversary Casati’s

Last night was a perfect night as the Casati family celebrated their 5th year at the corner of Fullerton and Clark Streets. Casati’s Modern Italian Restaurant has become one of our favorites since we first reviewed them and this is our second visit on their anniversary, which they celebrate with a bang. This is not just a party but in fact a soiree. If you know the corner, it is one where there is a courtyard below street level and in the warmer months, dining el fresco gives yu the feeling of being away from Chicago. Despite the hustle and bustle that is part of Lincoln Park, once you are seated in the courtyard, you feel that you have been transported to a villa in Italy.

For tonight’s even, which included a sampling of all the great treats on their menu, wine tastings from some of the purveyors that they are close with and then, the fashion show. They transformed the outdoor seating area to a runway where models show us fashionable items from Neiman Marcus, Sylvia Designs, Mira Couture, Max Mara (Bloomingdale’s) LEPA, Red e Mas, Countess Bottegga and Maria Pinto. Beautiful fashions are presented as only a professional show should be.

The food was plentiful and consistent in flavor. Every taste made you feel the work that the chefs brought to the kitchen. During the dining period, we all made new friends as we sat and talked about our love of this dining room and the food that they serve.

I know that each and every person who attended this evening had a wonderful time and enjoyed the evening. For those of you who have not dined there, you might want to make it a point to have that first experience. Once you do, I am sure you will return ( often) and mark your calendar for August 15 next year as I am sure they will do it again. By the way, the weather was as perfect as one could ask for when doing an outdoor presentation.
