Over the week-end, while attending my grand-daughter Sarah’s dance recital, I became aware of an organization that is very special. One that more people NEED to be aware of. The organization is called “Fighting For Families”.
Here is the history:
Fighting For Families was founded in 2013 in honor of Drew Sternheimer a son, grandson, and friend to many.
When you are faced with one of life’s most difficult challenges, it’s not easy! At birth, Drew was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and was immediately faced with challenges that were previously unimaginable. Our deep and loving support system has continued to allow us to give Drew the best life possible. Facing these challenges with this unrelenting support has instilled passion and drive to help other families facing similar adversity.
Fighting For Families will work hard to raise money to provide support and ancillary services of ANY kind to families whose children have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Whether it be assistance with rehabilitation therapies, providing equipment, or helping with childcare and support services, Fighting For Families will be there.
Donation and fundraising efforts will help us to provide support and give these families the hope and optimism they so desperately need. For these children and their families the word “impossible” doesn’t have to exist in their vocabulary. We hope to assist families and their children to lead the most independent and limitless lives possible. their website is www.fighting-for-families.org
