February is over ( thank goodness) and things should start warming up. I can see that things are warming up at Misericordia’s Hearts & Flour Bakery in Chicago.
Our fellow Sunday radio shows hosts, Ellen and Scott from “Out Chicago” and Frank and I ( Around The Town with Al Bresloff) went to this fabulous bakery/cafe and after tasting a great many goodies, selected our favs! Now you get to vote on which you prefer, knowing that everyone is a winner. Each one that is purchased means a donation will be made to the scholarship fund at Special Gifts Theatre- www.specialgiftstheatre.org.

When you look into the case, you will see photos of the host with their choices. Here are the scores for January and February (combined)
Frank’s Morning Glory Muffin 315
Scott’s Spinach Mushroom croissant 448
Al’s ( MINE) Chocolate Croissant 504
Ellen’s Ham & Cheese Croissant 832 ( wow!)
2,099 TOTAL- Haven’t been there yet? Now is the time:6130 N. Ravenswood ( or Ridge Avenue between Granville and Peterson) with parking, plenty of seating and a warm and friendly staff. The coffee is far better than most any other “coffee shop” and they offer wi-fi, so you can do some work while enjoying a wonderful treat ( or sandwich).
