Every year, the great characters of Sesame Street hit the road and make the Chicago area a two stop visit. They will bring this new production that allows the audience to go anywhere they want to be with Elmo, Abby Cadabby and all their friends. This special musical will stop in Merrillville at The Star Plaza from May 4th through the 8th ( 9 fun-filled performances) and then move North to the Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont from May 12th until the 15th for nine more performances.
Like TV’s Sesame Street, the “Sesame Street Live!” productions are pure family entertainment that also provide lessons for the little ones ( as well as for their parents and grandparents). It all starts with Sam, their mail carrier brings them post cards from exciting locations, he also teaches them how they can use their imagination to feel as if they are really there. “It’s as easy as 1-2-3 Imagine”. Ernie goes to the high seas and takes the helm of the “good ship Rubber Duckie”, Elmo dances to the rhythm of the African Rainforest and Bert meets a sad octopus. This is an adventure story that teaches children that they can be anyone or do anything or even be anywhere with the power og “imagination”.
For those of you who have seen past productions, these are slick, Broadway type shows that appeals to the youngsters and oldsters and teaches children an appreciation for live theater at an early age by allowing them to see characters who are a part of their lives on stage, instead of on a TV screen. Tickets are affordable starting as low as $15 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800=745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com
