***** It has been some time since Frank and I went down to Lincoln Park and enjoyed an amazing breakfast at The Brunchery, located at 2552 N. Clark Street, so when my son and daughter-in-law asked to get together before they leave town, I said, ” Let’s do brunch at The Brunchery”. Jane and I headed into the city, stopping to do some Saturday morning chores, and arrived there at 11 a.m. FYI- they do not take reservations, and while it is a madhouse of people trying to get in, Chris Harris and his staff always manage to get everyone to a place where they can truly enjoy a great breakfast or lunch.

For your info, they have been around since 1938, when it was known as Frances’ Deli. Under the leadership of chef Derek Rylon and Chris Harris, the atmosphere and menu has changed, but they still continue the deli selections ( or at least the most popular ones) to satisfy the neighborhood. One of their specialties is their “Flight on Flight” items, allowing a mixture of their choices on a platter, for one or all to taste. Both food and beverages are available on this platform.
The kitchen is what is termed a “scratch kitchen”. Meaning that every item is made completely in-house using organic and locally sourced farmer’s market ingredients, and of course, their signature dishes are created to allow diners to try something unique, different, and very special. Check the big wall board for some of the daily specials… and enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
My son, Cary, ordered the Seafood Benedict, a rich combination of seafood with eggs Benedict and a special hollandaise sauce served with veggies. His wife, Cari ( yes they are both Cary(i)s had the Breakfast Burrit, Jane the Blueberry Crunch, one of their specialty French Toast dishes and I ordered the simple Franny’s skillet ( a wonderful skillet filled with veggies and scrambled eggs, as well as bacon bits). I didn’t picture that one as It only appears to be a bowl of breakfast, and it tastes far better than it looks. I LOVED every morsel ( and so will you!).

The Brunchery is open every day ( except Thanksgiving and Christmas) from 9 a.m. til 3 p.m.
The phone number is 773-248-4580
Address: 2552 N. Clark Street, Chicago
Go early, drop someone off, and find parking. Better yet, take the Clark Street bus and relax.
The place attracts crowds, so not only will you enjoy great food, but you will also meet some new (soon to be) friends!
