****The Magic Parlour in Chicago continues to uphold the city’s historic connection to magic and illusion, a tradition that dates back to the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893. This is where legendary magicians Harry Houdini and Howard Thurston crossed paths, marking the beginning of Chicago’s golden age of magic. From the 1890s to the late 1920s, Chicago became a hub for vaudeville shows and large-scale magical performances by icons like Houdini, Thurston, and Chicago-born Harry Blackstone Sr.

Today, over 130 years later, magic is still alive and well in Chicago, with Dennis Watkins at the forefront. His long-running show, The Magic Parlour, now held at the Goodman Theatre and Petterino’s downstairs lounge, remains a magical mainstay. Currently, in collaboration with the 7th Chicago International Latino Theatre Festival, Destinos, The Magic Parlour is hosting the Los Angeles-based, Ecuadorian magician Siegfried Tieber. His performance offers a unique blend of sleight-of-hand, psychology, and an irresistible South American charm, effortlessly captivating audiences for a 90-minute spell.

Tieber is not just a magician; he’s also a masterful mentalist, seamlessly weaving thought-reading into his magic. His performances begin with seemingly simple tricks that quickly escalate into mind-bending illusions, leaving audiences in awe. For those seeking an extra magical experience, Tieber will present special performances in Spanish on Sunday, October 12 and 19 at 4:30 PM. On October 16, he will be joined by local magicians Luis Carreon and Mago Gozner for a night of intimate magic, including a three-card Monte performance. For a full experience, general admission tickets are priced at $70, which includes a complimentary drink.
